Aspazija Surgailienė Fairytale Box: Žemaitė. My Tales
Aspazija Surgailienė (1928–2011) created the Fairytale Box, an innovative boxed collection of mini-books, in 1961. In the 1960s, the boxes became an iconic favourite of Lithuanian children. The publication was so popular that the artist had to create new versions of the box: My Tales by Žemaitė was published in 1963, Petras Cvirka’s Tales in 1965, and Fairytale Box in 1970. This book is the third edition of Žemaitė’s My Tales.
