Laisvydė Šalčiūtė
Laisvydė Šalčiūtė is an original artist who does not follow any of the dominating art lines in contemporary Lithuanian art. In her creation process of graphic art plates she uses books of an artist, objects, and even embroidered things. She uses different means, but her real element is a drawing. It is essential but not auxiliary element – a way to perceive the world. When submerging into the drawing the artist creates completely authentic, individual and nicely sensitive world. This world view primarily is based on personal experience and, what is not the least important, on feelings. Therefore it is natural that without much trouble we can recognize the general features of feminine world perception.
